Pathogenic Balancing Adjustments — August 7, 2026
The official August 7 balance update changed Overcharge scaling, adjusted several Organelles and Mutations, strengthened Heart enemies and added combat information to the Mitochondria tooltip.

Overcharge and Organelle balance
- •Overcharge-strength bonuses from Conductive slots, Plasmids and Mutations now stack additively instead of multiplicatively.
- •Sentry Nidus, Swarm Nidus, Gyrase Wheel, Conal Burst, Opisthoblast, Dehiscence Lobber and Blastocyst Mortar received buffs.
- •Lateral Emitter, Katanosome, Phagosome, Peroxisome and Mucus Emitter received balance reductions or scaling corrections.
Mutation and Heart changes
- •Autonomic Discharge charge-speed bonus was reduced from 50% to 25%.
- •Enhanced Boosters and Survival Reflex no longer appear once dodge invulnerability would cover more than 80% of the cooldown.
- •Most Heart enemies received a slight HP increase, including the Heart boss tentacles.
Quality of life and fixes
- •The expanded Mitochondria tooltip now shows Overcharge produced in the last room.
- •A 90 FPS frame-rate limit was added.
- •Controller remaps, organelle-editor crashes, beam-width scaling and several wording issues were fixed.
What this changes for current runs
- •Treat Overcharge Strength as additive when comparing a new chain; old multiplicative examples are not a safe baseline for the current patch.
- •Check Sentry Nidus, Swarm Nidus and other adjusted Organelles in the current tooltip before copying an older build or damage claim.
- •Use the Last Room Damage value to test one change at a time instead of judging a build from a single lucky hit marker.
